May 24, 2013 - The 2013 Leading EDGE Awards were held yesterday at Lorain Community College in Elyria, Ohio, where Talan Products of Cleveland was recognized along with 101 other mid-sized Northeast Ohio companies. To qualify, companies must operate within the 17 counties of Northeast Ohio and report revenues up to $750 million (a portion of this must be outside the region).
The award was developed by The Entrepreneurs EDGE as way to honor value-creating companies in the area. The companies in the elite group that received recognition were selected for the award due to the value they create in the regional economy. This value is based on a sum of there earnings before interest and taxes and total taxable compensation for all Northeast Ohio-based employees.
Talan Products CEO, Steve Peplin, commented on their receipt of the award saying, “We are honored to be recognized for our 7th time as a top contributor to the economy of Northeast Ohio. We strive to be a major part of our local economy and it is nice to have the metrics to prove it. Everyone knows ‘all politics are local’, to some extent I feel all economics are local also.”
