Milwaukee, WI (April 24, 2019) Taylor Dynamometer proudly announced today the redesign of its RS-40K Towing Dynamometer. This full-featured Towing Dynamometer is specifically designed for testing today's DOT Vehicles (Classes 5 and 6) which include trucks and buses. A recent customer testing requirement inspired a redesign of the RS-40K which included a shorter overall configuration aided by a single axle design.

“At Taylor Dynamometer, we pride ourselves on exceeding our customer’s expectations by providing them with the products and services they need to succeed in the engine and vehicle testing markets. Our RS-40K is a perfect example of this,” said Eric Miles, Regional Business Consultant, Taylor Dynamometer. “This redesign improved the overall versatility of the dyno, therefore improving the testing range and usability for the customer.”

The RS-40K is built with a heavy-duty steel frame, industrial axle and rides on an air ride suspension. It is designed to maintain 40,000 Newtons (8,992 lbf)* of constant drawbar force with the ability to simulate an uphill slope of 25%. The dyno uses eddy current absorbers with special high temperature coils. The power is provided by an industrial generator and testing is unlimited at low speeds.
A few other key features of the RS-40K include:

• Industry-leading drawbar assembly
• On-board air compressor and accessory hose reel
• Heavy-duty transfer case for extended testing ranges
• DynCntrl-II software with advanced hill simulation
• Ruggedized, Wi-Fi, touchscreen tablet PC controller
• Dual or super single wheels and tires

*May require optional ballast
