Hoffer Short Wafer Meter/HIT-4U Pair up to Provide Flow Solution

Hoffer Flow Controls recently supplied their Short Wafer meter design paired with the New HIT-4U data logger display unit to provide a flow solution for produced water applications. The paired meter and display duo measured produced water in an oilfield to provide the user with data to meet local environmental reporting requirements.

Paired as a system this solution delivers an accuracy of ±0.5% or better and is capable of 12 point linearization.  An easy to read LCD displays flow logs and indicates rate, total and grand total simultaneously.  Up to 100 of the most recent flow logs are accessible at the front panel LCD display and access to all logs are available via the integral Modbus communications serial port.

One of the many benefits of using the Hoffer short wafer is savings.  Save cost, space, and weight by eliminating the need of costly end flanges on the meter. This design allows the meter to fit between the customer’s process flanges thus saving the cost of one pair of flanges per installation.

The Hoffer short wafer paired with the HIT-4U provides the user with flexible flow measurement solutions in the Oil Patch for produced water flow and hydrocarbon condensate, but also is a great solution for your general liquid and gas applications.  The short wafer can even be built with custom exotic alloys for more demanding service conditions.
