Erie, PA---Eriez®HydroFlow®will officially introduce the new Deep Bed Gravity Filter at the 2014 International Manufacturing Technology Show (IMTS), which will take place September 8-13 at McCormick Place in Chicago. This innovative rolled media gravity bed filter provides significant operational advantages over typical gravity filters.
The advanced design of Deep Bed Gravity Filters offers long lead in and flow out of disposable media to eliminate dirty coolant by-pass around media. State-of-the-art features include wide sealing edges with heavy duty chain to secure side seals, deep bed to provide additional head to force liquid through media and heavy hot-rolled steel bar flights with flat edge to maintain media seal and ensure proper media tracking and advance.
“The key to success of the Deep Bed is the effective side seal and travel of the media and liquid depth to assist liquid permeation through the media, trapping the fine solid debris,” said Tom Cassese, Director-Sales, Eriez HydroFlow.
Heavy duty construction throughout these unitsprevents bed flexing, welds cracking or structural failures. For easy maintenance, flushing and cleaning, the gasket and bolted clean out port are positioned at the side of the clean tank.
Deep Bed Gravity Filters are engineered for straightforward, trouble-free operation. Electrical controls, with relays, push buttons and press-to-test pilot lights included, allow simple start-up of pumps and conveyor and provide a constant visual of coolant tank levels, pump pressures and coolant temperature. Heavy duty chain and flight deep bed mechanical conveyors ensure maximum conveyor up-time for the continuous removal of swarf and solids contaminant.
The experts at Eriez HydroFlow work with customers to design the ideal system to meet their unique needs. Pumps are selected for respective flow and pressure from best available pumps. A varietyof optional equipment is also offered to complement Deep Bed Gravity Filters, including a Magnetic Coolant Cleaner, Cartridge Filters, Recirculation Pumps and Drop-in Style Coil Chillers.
Deep Bed Gravity Filters are typically utilized for CNC grinding applications and achieve an average clarity level of 20-30 microns with flows up to 90 gpm.
