Conductix-Wampfler Wins an Order for LASSTEC Weigh Systems

Conductix-Wampfler, the world's leading manufacturer of energy and data transmission systems, demonstrates its success in the area of container weighing with a contract to supply ICTSI’s Contecon Guayaquil SA with a substantial new order for LASSTEC container weighing systems.

Since acquiring LASSTEC S.à.r.l. in September 2013, this is the second order Conductix-Wampfler has won from Contecon for the Twistlock Load Sensing & Operational Safety System.  Contecon initially purchased five LASSTEC systems for use on STS cranes. Highlighting their confidence in the system, Contecon selected Conductix to provide 12 additional units for use on new RTGs.  The move puts the port closer to complying with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) latest container weighing regulations.

The Conductix-Wampfler LASSTEC system uses patented fiber optic technology to accurately measure force applied on each twistlock within the container spreader.  The data is then transferred to the terminal TOS for further analysis, storage, and operational decisions at the port.
