Composite Curing Batch Oven for the University of South Carolina

Wisconsin Oven Corporation announced the shipment of a composite curing batch oven to the McNAIR Center for Aerospace Innovation and Research at the University of South Carolina. The composite curing oven will be used by university faculty, students and industry partners to support education and research efforts as part of the McNAIR Center’s Advanced Composite Manufacturing Laboratory – an industrial scale applied  R &D facility. With a maximum operating temperature of 800°F, the oven will allow students to process and develop new higher temperature materials as they hit the market.

Unique features of this composite curing oven include:

    Viewing window in door with interior light
    Eurotherm 3504 programmable control
    Eurotherm Versadac to record part temperatures and vacuum pressure
    Twelve position thermocouple jack panel
    Vacuum manifold with four (4) interior stubs and transducers
    Carbon steel roll in cart with removable push bar
    Reinforced insulated 4” thick floor
    108 Kilowatts heat input with SSR Control

This walk-in oven was fully factory tested and adjusted prior to shipment to help reduce installation and start-up times. A 150 point Quality Assurance check list was completed to ensure the equipment met all Wisconsin Oven quality standards.
