COLUMBIA CITY -
Reelcraft Industries, Inc. announced Tuesday it will expand its operations in Columbia City. The expansion will potentially create up to 40 full-time jobs by 2018.
The Whitley County Economic Development Corporation says Reelcraft will invest in new machinery and equipment. Reelcraft, which is headquartered in Columbia City and employs about 200 full-time workers, manufactures hose reels, cord reels and cable reels for industrial, commercial and professional uses.
"The economic support provided by local and state agencies helped to ensure that manufacturing jobs remain local in Columbia City versus alternatives to move production offshore," said Eric Huston, General Manager of Reelcraft Industries, Inc. "Additionally, the economic support provided will be used to further develop our local workforce through training investments."
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation has offered Reelcraft up to $175,000 in conditional, performance-based tax credits and up to $50,000 in training grants. Reelcraft will not be eligible to claim those incentives until Indiana residents are hired for the newly-created jobs. The Whitley County Redevelopment Commission is also providing a training grant to match the money being offered by the IEDC.
Reelcraft plans to begin hiring in January. Those interested in applying can clicking here, selecting "current employment opportunities" and searching for US-Columbia City.
