The Auto-Lock™ is an internal retention mechanism that actually hooks to the pins of power supply inlets and resists any axial force unless the Auto-Lock™ mechanism is released!  Tremendous amounts of force cannot get the electrical connector to budge, but as soon as the IEC Auto-Lock™ mechanism is manually deactivated, the connector slips easily out of the inlet.

With a unique patented locking mechanism on the connector side, fastening and unlocking your cord is just one pull away. After inserting the connector end into your device, it is safely secure. Try to pull on the cord and you won't be able to disconnect it. When you want to remove the cord, simply pull simultaneously on the red sliding tabs and voila!
