Conveyors

The focus of FlexLink’s new generation X65 conveyor has been reduced total cost of ownership (TCO), innovation and sustainability. Results are significantly higher value to users when compared to current solutions used in production and packaging lines.

Conveyor systems are huge elements in production logistics solutions, enhancing the total efficiency in production, packaging, and testing lines. Over time, the equipment requirements are increasing, most commonly on additional processing, flexibility for new products, lower operating costs and higher capacity. With the launch of the new X65 conveyor, FlexLink takes the performance of conveyors to higher levels that offer lower TCO, less noise and an innovative design.

To develop the new X65 conveyor platform, input was taken from leading end users and OEMs to offer added value to today’s needs while achieving the requirements of tomorrow.

The X65 platform offers double the strength of today’s standards. Göran Abbestam, Product Manager at FlexLink explains, "The doubled conveyor strength has a dramatic effect on the service life and maintenance intervals of systems installed. In addition, the layouts can be made simpler as fewer drives and transfers are required for a given layout due to the increased maximum conveyor length. To the user, this has a substantial, positive impact with less complexity and a lower cost of installation."

Reducing TCO
Designed for low friction and power usage as well as a long service life, the X65 conveyor has many elements that contribute to TCO. New high efficient drive technology to further reduce power consumption is being introduced. Depending on the application and choice of drive unit, compared to today’s standards, power usage is 8-44 percent less than older FlexLink high efficiency drive units. With a strong design, maintenance intervals are more than double compared to today’s standards.

Higher Capacity
Double the speed of past conveyor generations is what the X65 is capable of. Measuring at the speed of 120m/min, this capacity meets future standards higher requirements on line speed while achieving reduced cost per produced unit.

Lower Noise Level
With factory environment being a concern, FlexLink has taken a considerable effort in noise reduction and improvement or operator safety. While performing common applications, the X65 typically runs at a noise level that is about 80 percent less than other operating systems.

Efficient Single Piece Flow
The X65 pallet conveyor system offers high quality production at low cost for automates single piece flow applications. It stands out with its unique design and standard functions for product handling up to 1 kg. Pallets and functions are prepared for integration of process control systems, such as track and trace and MES functionalities.

"Throughout the development work, our main focus has been on reducing the total cost of ownership for the conveyor equipment, from the engineering and ramp-up to the end of the investment. The drastically cut power consumption and office-like noise level brings measureable value from day one. Our aim was to give our customers trouble-free operation with the X65 conveyor, and I am confident we have combined it with a high value added as well," concludes Göran Abbestam.
