NewAge Adds Engineering Capabilities for Future Growth

Plastic and rubber tubing and hose maker NewAge Industries Inc. has reconfigured 7,500 square feet of its 184,000-square-foot Southampton, Pa., facility to accommodate additional engineering capabilities.

To complement existing talent, the firm hired design and test engineers, mechanical engineers, an engineering project manager and an applications engineer with a doctorate in plastics engineering. The combined engineering experience of these newer employees exceeds 100 years.

In addition, NewAge hired personnel in product management and supply chain functions. Hiring occurred over several months.

NewAge employs 130, operates six extrusion lines and has capabilities for injection molding silicone and thermoplastic elastomers, said a company spokeswoman.

The food, medical and chemical-handling industries are NewAge’s principal end markets. Customized products include hose assemblies, outer-dimension treatments, colors and specialized compounds low-temperature and anti-static properties.

The firm’s AdvantaPure division is certified under ISO 9001:2008 and makes high-purity tubing, hose and single-use manifolds and systems for fluid and air transfer applications primarily in the pharmaceutical and biopharma industries. NewAge’s Verigenics division supplies automated product identification systems.

NewAge was started in 1954 and began an employee stock ownership plan in 2006.
