Wineman Technologies

At Wineman Technology, we’re committed to building the best test cells using servo-hydraulics, dynamometers, and data acquisition and control systems. This year we are focused specifically in growing our hydraulic test expertise. With more than 30 years of experience working with fluid power based test systems, Jim Warner now joins the Wineman Technology team as our Hydraulic System Specialist, as well as Midwest Sales Engineer. With such a wealth of knowledge in this vertical market of hydraulics, Jim will be assisting our worldwide technical sales team, as well as providing design experience to our engineering team.

To help you get to know Jim a little better, we interviewed him on his background, passions, and engineering knowledge:

Professional Background

I come to Wineman Technology after 20 years at RHM Fluid Power, one of the largest power unit manufacturers in the Midwest. I worked as a national and international (Asia) sales engineer specializing in large high flow applications, precision closed-loop systems, and various test systems. Previous to my years with RHM, I worked as a sales engineer for an Allen-Bradley system integrator and started my career with a large machine tool OEM as a controls designer.

I offer more than three decades of fluid power experience, working with open and closed-loop proportional servo systems for pressure, positioning, and velocity control. I have engineered systems from -40°F to +400°F, with tolerances held to 0.5 kPa and .0005”, pressures up to 60,000 psi, and supplies greater than 10,000 HP. These applications have spanned many industries, including oil and gas, automotive, primary metal industries, food processing, and military and aerospace.

Personal Life and Passions

I live in Lansing, Michigan with my wife Cay. We have two adult children and two dogs. In my free time, I enjoy woodworking, hunting, snowmobiling, and spending time at our cabin near Lake Superior. I served as Chairman of the Educational Committee for the Fluid Power Society – Michigan, Chapter 13 for two terms. I’m also involved with the Knights of Columbus Council 788 where I’ve served as an officer for the past 4 years.

Thanks, Jim, for some insight into your background, and welcome to the Wineman Technology family. You will hear from him more in the future as he shares his knowledge and expertise on hydraulic test systems through white papers and blog posts.
