Asbury Carbons Invests in New Facility in North Carolina

In our 120^th year, Asbury Carbons is pleased to announce the newest addition to the Asbury family, Asbury Graphite of North Carolina. Asbury has successfully purchased a new location that will house the next generation clean technology in Lumberton, NC.

This will be Asbury’s 7^th manufacturing location in the United States, but the first of its kind. Asbury has successfully implemented clean technology in its Netherlands facility, and is now bringing the same capabilities to the United States. This 142,000 sq ft facility will produce Asbury’s high volume, value added products such as Graphite Nano Platelet (GNP) materials.

The production capabilities offered by this facility, along with a strategic location accessible by truck and rail, will provide a benefit to customers in the region. This facility will reduce overall lead times with the addition of new processing equipment as well as blending technologies. Asbury is committed to enhancing and exceeding customer expectations.

Asbury has set a tentative time line to begin work on converting the site to a production facility by late 2015, with hopes to be fully operational by December 2016.
