SAKOR Technologies Inc., a recognized leader in the implementation of instrumentation products for dynamometer testing, announces that its participation in Council of Great Lakes Governors Québec Trade Mission 2015 successfully netted them several new potential trading partners. Those identified are expected to help sell SAKOR equipment and provide in-country sales, service, and technical support.

The international trade mission, organized by the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) in cooperation with the United States Department of Commerce, resulted in non-stop opportunities to meet with large and small companies interested in learning more about SAKOR's capabilities. A transportation industry group is already considering purchasing a dynamometer system to use in its truck equipment testing program.

As part of the mission, Bob McFarland, SAKOR's director of business development, was invited by Michigan Gov. Rick Snyder to take part in a roundtable discussion focusing on strategic development of Québec’s aerospace industry. Organized by Aero Montreal, the roundtable was a great opportunity to highlight Michigan business capabilities. A special focus was the commercial aerospace industry, where Canada is a leading developer of drone technology.

Several units within Hydro Québec were also identified as potential customers, including Hydro-Québec’s research institute, IREQ, which is charged with testing manufacturers’ claims on the efficiency of electric motors and drives. A major Canadian manufacturer of electric motors is another prospect, as is an organization providing applied research on specialized vehicles.

“I cannot say enough about the tremendous assistance given to SAKOR by MEDC,” says Randal Beattie, president of SAKOR. “All the contacts and meetings they arranged kept our team hopping, and they did a wonderful job of educating us on the aerospace industry in Québec, as well as numerous other opportunities. I look forward to working with MEDC on similar economic development initiatives in the future.”
